Episode 32: Teaching Robots Skills on Real Hardware — Jens Kober

· Season 2

Deep Dives with Iman, hosted by Iman Mossavat, features Professor Jens Kober, head of the Learning and Interactive Robots Lab at the University of Stuttgart, formerly of TU Delft. Kober has spent much of his career on one question: how do you get a robot to learn a skill and perform it reliably on real hardware? We discuss why tasks that look trivial to humans, such as picking up a mug, are so hard for robots, why flashy humanoid demo videos say little about reliability in a factory, and why learning in simulation does not simply carry over to the real world.
